Welcome home, USN, and bravo zulu!

The USS Peleliu and USNS Comfort recently returned from extended humanitarian missions abroad. Check out the numbers:

During the trip, members of the crew or embarked specialists from non-governmental groups and partner nations treated over 4,000 dental patients and over 30,000 medical patients, including performing 301 surgical operations. The veterinary services provided included treating over 2,500 animals and immunizing or de-worming an additional 3,500 animals. Engineering projects undertaken on shore, 44 in all, included refurbishment of schools and hospitals, repair of roads, assembly of playgrounds, installation of solar panels, and construction of flood-control mechanisms.
