Congress + Corporate Dollars = Luv

Regardless of your political affiliation, you should be skeptical of any politician that takes big money from special interest groups and/or major corporations.

And that would be all of them, as evidenced by the good folks at MapLight.

I’m a capitalist and I live in the real world. Money makes the world go round, and there’s not a chance in hell that our political system is going to be drastically overhauled without a massive societal shift of priorities, or armed revolution, and we certainly don’t want that. But for now, we have to watch these people like hawks, because they serve at the pleasure of us.

In a perfect world, our politicians would make the same as our teachers, and be required to publicly disclose each and every personal investment, before they run for office, and after they leave it.

Keep an eye on your elected officials, and watch how they vote.   Does it reflect your interests, or those of the corporations from which big money was accepted?
