Cause Marketing has been around for years, but now the press is picking up on it. It’s a nice contrast to the constant screeching about corporate corruption.
Don’t get me wrong. There are plenty of corporate thugs that deserve some sweaty inmate -love. But many businesses (and executives) are working hard to do good with their hard-earned cash, and they should be applauded.
When corporations do good, we can rely less on our government to produce results.
From the article:
“I actually think it is going to be a bigger deal with people who are growing up now,” said Keller. “I think they are just growing up in a different era where there’s a realization that the world is not perfect, the government is not going to solve it, and there is some responsibility that we all have.”
Somebody buy that guy a drink. Or better yet, elect him to fill Ted Kennedy’s seat.
